Three short weeks after debuting highlighter-colored hair at the punk-themed 2013 Met Costume Institute Gala, the 30-year-old actress has ditched her platinum blond locks in favor of a darker shade.
Hathaway was spotted in New York City on Tuesday grabbing coffee and rocking her trademark chestnut-colored pixie cut.
"I don't know that you could tell it by looking at me, but Debbie Harry was [my inspiration]," she told Vogue.com at the Met Gala on May 6, referring to her blond dye job.
While she may have wanted to channel the Blondie frontwoman, duty is calling: The stunning star is prepping for her next movie, "Song One," which reportedly has required her to return to her natural shade. In the role -- her first since nabbing an Oscar for her role as Fantine in "Les Misérables" -- she'll play a young woman who strikes up an unlikely relationship with her brother's favorite musician. Her husband, Adam Shulman, is one of the producers for the flick.
