TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Tampa firefighters say a family of four escaped an early morning house fire.

Firefighters say it happened just before 5 a.m. on the 200 block of W. 26th Ave.

According to reports at the scene, firefighters say the family was sleeping and was alerted by neighbors to get out.

Firefighters say the front of the home was destroyed by the fire and a car parked near the front of the home has fire damage as well.

An investigator from the fire marshal's office is on scene to determine the cause of the fire.
