TAMPA, Fla. (970 WFLA) - Strong thunderstorms will affect northeastern Hillsborough, northwestern Polk and southeastern Pasco counties.
At 10:49 a.m., the National Weather Service meteorologists detected a line of thunderstorms located along a line extending from Zephyrhills to Riverview, or along a line extending from Zephyrhills to Brandon, moving east at 30 mph. these strong storms will affect Zephyrhills, Zephyrhills Municipal Airport Crystal Springs and Hillsborough River State Park until 11:15 a.m.
This includes interstate 75 between exits 254 and 260 and interstate 4 between exits 10 and 33.
Gusty winds up to 35 mph along with frequent lightning are expected. To be safe go indoors immediately. If caught outside find a low spot and stay away from tall objects. Torrential rains will reduce visibility to near zero and will cause ponding of water on roadways.
A special marine warning is in effect until noon.
