"White House Down"  (PG-13)   

Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx star in
this action thriller about the White House being attacked and taken
over by terrorists.  Jamie is the President, and Channing plays a D.C.
cop who's there because he wanted a job with the Secret Service.

Maggie Gyllenhaal is the Secret Service agent he interviews with, and Joey King from the "Ramona and Beezus" kids movie plays Channing's daughter . . . who's also trapped in the White House when the terrorists attack.  It's directed by Roland Emmerich, the guy who did "Independence Day".



"The Heat"  (R)  

Sandra Bullock and Melissa McCarthy
star in this buddy cop movie about an uptight FBI agent who's forced to team up with a foul-mouthed Boston cop to take down a local drug lord. 

It's directed by the guy who did "Bridesmaids"Marlon Wayans is also in it, but he doesn't get a lot of screen time.  And there's a cameo from Joey McIntyre of the Backstreet Boys as one of Melissa McCarthy's brothers. 




"Redemption"  (R) 

Jason Statham is a homeless veteran who assumes
another man's identity.  He uses his combat skills working for the
criminal underworld . . . until the day he learns that his missing
girlfriend was brutally murdered.  Then all he wants is revenge.
