...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL AFFECT CENTRAL PINELLAS AND NORTHWESTERN HILLSBOROUGH COUNTIES...

At 637 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located near Macdill Air Force Base, or near Downtown Saint Petersburg, moving north at 15 mph.

Winds in excess of 30 mph and half inch hail are possible with this storm.

Locations impacted include...

Tampa, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Downtown Saint Petersburg, St. Petersburg, South Highpoint, Keystone, Greater Northdale, Tampa International Airport, Macdill Air Force Base, Gandy, Egypt Lake-Leto, Citrus Park, Feather Sound, East Lake, Greater Carrollwood, West And East Lealman, Palm Harbor and Safety Harbor.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.

Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
