Despite the amazing season the Rays have had thus far, the Trop just can't seem to keep the lights on this year. In the bottom of the fourth in a matchup against the Los Angeles Angels, a bird's nest falling in St. Pete caused the power to go out, according to Duke Energy.
The Angels were winning the game was 3-0 at the time of the outage and would go on to win the game 5-3. During the 30-minute outage, many of the 15,000+ fans held up their cellphones as light sources in the nearly pitch black stadium.
The Rays saw another power outage earlier this year in a match up against the Yankees. That outage delayed the game for close to 45 minutes.
