Michael Bloomberg Participates In First Democratic Presidential Debate

Tonight marks the 9th Democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas, but the 1st for Michael Bloomberg. The Democratic National Committee changed the rules, removing the need for donors, allowing him to qualify. The latest NPR poll shows Bloomberg is in second place behind Bernie Sanders with 19-percent compared to Sanders' 31-percent. University of Miami political science professor Dr. Joseph Uscinski says more people may tune into this debate, but they're not likely to change their minds about who they want to be the nominee. He expects Bloomberg's rivals to step up their attacks against him, accusing him of trying to buy the election and criticizing his support of "stop and frisk" in New York City when he was mayor. The debate comes 3 days before the Nevada Democratic caucuses, listen live to our pre-debate special with WIOD's Ryan Gorman beginning at 6:05 tonight.
