The funny slip-up happened during Monday’s (August 10) virtual episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, on which the “Don’t Start Now” pop star assumed guest-hosting duties for an interview with the “Hollaback Girl” musician. The awkward moment came early on when Lipa asked Stefani how she and Shelton are holding up while quarantining in Oklahoma.
"So I heard that you've been spending quarantine with your husband Blake Shelton at the ranch in Oklahoma. Who else was with you? How was that?" Lipa asked innocuously.
Pausing for a moment, a smiling Gwen responded, "Um, well...he's not my husband, but that sounded cool when you said it."
After laughing off her error, she and Stefani played it cool and proceeded with the convo.
"We were actually on his tour right when we got shut down," the No Doubt superstar added. "My brother was out with us … so his whole family came out. So it was me, my three boys, Blake, and then my brother, his wife, their two little babies, kids, and then her sister and then a friend."
Speaking on life on Shelton’s ranch amid the quarantine, the 50-year-old said, "It was really actually a lot of fun at first. Because it's like, all of a sudden, work is over and you just get to indulge and just being on this ranch...every day was like a new thing."
The couple sparked their romance after acquainting with one another as coaches on The Voice in 2015. Since then, there has been much speculation of an imminent engagement for the inseparable duo, who celebrated their fourth anniversary as a pair earlier this year. (Also, in case you missed it, the two recently released a new duet called “Happy Anywhere.”)
