WATCH: Florida Democrats Want to "Drag" Voters to Polls

TALLAHASSEE -- They call it "Drag Yourself to the Polls." The Florida Democratic Party says it's launching a voter turnout drive using drag queen videos encouraging early and mail voting.

A party release says Brita Filter, LaGanja Estranja, and Willam Belli, identified as drag queens with significant followings, will appear on the FDP's social media platforms over the next two weeks, including its TikTok and Snapchat, aimed at younger voters.

FDP Executive Director Juan Peñalosa says “Everyone loves a queen, and Florida Democrats are no different!" He says that LGBTQ rights are on the ballot, including the rights to "love, marry and serve", and that the party is responding with "humor and grace and grit." Stephen Gaskill, head of the Florida LGBTQ+ Democratic Caucus, says drag queens will be "energizing" to the LGBTQ+ community and to the young adult vote.
