FDA, CDC Recommend Pause In J&J COVID Vaccine Distribution

In a blow to Johnson & Johnson's COVID-19 vaccine rollout, the FDA and CDC have just announced that they are "recommending a pause in the use of this vaccine out of an abundance of caution."

According to this statement, the safety of their patients is quote " a top priority for the federal government, and we take all reports of health problems following COVID-19 vaccination very seriously."

The move comes amid concerns of possible links between the vaccine and blood clots in some who get the single-dose shot.

Further details are expected at a 10 am Eastern time news conference.
