LAKELAND -- So far there are no signs of injuries after a small airplane made an emergency landing on the median of the Polk Parkway.
Lakeland Police and Fire say the plane landed during the noon hour near the Waring Road exit, not far from Lakeland Linder Airport. The pilot and passenger are unhurt.
Some road blockage occurred as the plane was hauled away.
Thousands of pilots are visiting the Lakeland area for the annual Sun 'n Fun fly-in festival, held at Lakeland Linder Airport.
