Florida Senate Approves New Seminole Gaming Compact

The Seminole gaming compact is approved by the Florida Senate ...

Senator Travis Hutson sponsors the bill and points to the $500-million Florida is set to receive each of the next five years if the deal becomes official.

One sticking point is the division of revenue between Hollywood, Davie and Dania cities that all border tribal lands and provide support services. Rep Marie Woodson says the details have been worked out.

The Florida House is expected to vote on the compact as early as tomorrow. The Department of the Interior also needs to approve the compact.

There's also a question as it relates a 2018 amendment that leaves gaming expansion in the state up to the voters.
