Murder Victim Miya Marcano's Family Sues Apartments, Suspect's Estate

ORLANDO -- The family of Miya Marcano, a missing 19-year-old woman later found dead, has sued the apartment complex where she worked and lived.

Fox 35 reports that the suit filed in Orange County civil court, names Arden Villas apartments, its parent owners the Preiss Company, and the estate of the man suspected in her murder. Armando Caballero, as defendants.

The suit alleges negligence in, among other things, hiring Caballero, who took his own life September 27th, a few days after the victim disappeared. Marcano's body was found October 2nd. Detectives believe Caballero killed Marcano after his advances were rejected.

The law firm behind the suit says "everyone that played a role in the disappearance and death of Miya Marcano will be held accountable."
