South Florida Lawmaker Pushes Plan To Make Insulin More Affordable

This will be music to the ears of anyone suffering from diabetes. A South Florida lawmaker is trying to make it easier for people to pay for their insulin. State Representative Nicholas Duran of Miami is introducing legislation capping patient co-pays to 100-dollars a month. He says in 1996 a month's worth of insulin cost 21-dollars, that went up to 35 dollars a few years later and today a vile will set you back 275-dollars. He says something has to give. The next legislative session begins January 14th, 2020.
