ST. LEO, FL -- Though it's all over the headlines, impeachment doesn't seem to be affecting President Trump's job approval rating significantly, according to a new poll from a Florida university.
St. Leo University's polling institute, based in Pasco County north of Tampa, surveyed about a thousand people nationally. It also separately surveyed 500 Floridians.
Across the country, pollster Frank Orlando found the president's approval rating at 43.4 percent in mid-November, compared with 41.8 percent in April.
In Florida, President Trump enjoyed a slight boost, from 40.4 percent in April to 45.6 percent in November.
According to Orlando, that might be a little bit of backlash to the impeachment hearings. "Maybe more people are willing to respond to surveys to support the president, but it would be hard to draw a lot from that," the pollster said.
Orlando says overall, people's minds are "made up" about the president.
