Miami Commissioners Hear Appeal From School Developers In Bayshore

Miami City Commissioners hearing an appeal from the developer of Carrolton School for the Sacred Heart after the Miami Historic and Environmental Protection Board denies its plans to build an all-boys elementary school on 3.7 acres of historically designated property known as Villa Woodbine. The school bought the land earlier this month to build the K-through-5 school, but opponents say they can't develop there. Bayshore In Grove spokeswoman Rose Pujol says in 1999, the city unanimously approved a change of use for the property so long as the developer didn't change the population or traffic patterns.

She says this will clearly do both.
