Do You Have Bad Work Habits That Make You Unprofessional?

When someone is at the office every day, we can sometimes get lax in how we conduct ourselves. We start to think of our colleagues more like friends, or even family. That's exactly how it is here in Tampa at iHeartradio... we're family, we care about each other...

However, in becoming "family" -- we start to get a little relaxed and do things that others can see or flag as being unprofessional. Whether it's not cleaning up your office space after devouring lunch, to the crazy unsanitary conditions of the restrooms... 

There are also some SMALL things you can do that make a big impact in a bad way...

  • Lack of focus in conversation, maybe staring down at your computer or cell phone when someone is talking to you.
  • Using "cool" lingo rather than proper workplace phrases.... (ie. "No probs") or using emojis in e-mails.
  • Dressing relaxed rather than keeping it business Casual. There's a certain person on Mix who constantly has funny socks on, and multi-colored socks.
  • Remember your Manners! Saying "Thank You" can actually go a LONG way in the workplace. Sometimes this simple phrase can be forgotten.
