I signed up for an 8 week transformation challenge at the Westchase Orange Theory Fitness location. Going in I wasn't expecting much except to feel like at least I was doing SOMETHING to stop the extra pounds I was packing on long after the holiday eating season was over.
I'm 5'9" tall and I weighed in at 167 lbs. The most I've weighed in recent years... I was tired. I had lower back pain. My knees hurt. None of my clothes fit. I didn't sleep well and my skin was a mess!
In less than 6 weeks, I've lost about 5 lbs...doesn't seem like that much until you see the picture (and this pic doesn't even do it justice because I had to censor so much because well...the internet and all). Whatever wasn't lost on the scale, was definitely gained in muscle. My lower back pain is GONE because I built my core back up. My knees never hurt anymore. My clothes are falling off me and I sleep so soundly!
It's amazing what exercise can do for a body! And I have been going only 3 times a week! That's 3 hours a week of work for an entirely different body! I can't say enough great things about Orange Theory. If you haven't tried it...do so! (I'm pretty sure your first class is always free) I used to roll my eyes at everyone who would talk about it. It's NOT the same old thing. You never have to look at the clock. You just show up and the trainers do the rest. Seriously!
I'm back down on the ground playing with my 3 and 5 year olds...I'm not grunting and making all kinds of noises just trying to get back up after I've sat down.
And to think this is just 6 weeks into this. It's unbelievable really.
The pic below may not seem like some big deal to some women. But to me...I might as well be a swimsuit model. I haven't seen my belly this small since before having kids 6 years ago. I can't even tell you how many things I have tried over the years to get my baby pooch to go down and then all of a sudden this friggin class comes into my life and 6 weeks later...boom!
