My Tampa Family Roots DISCOVERED In Old Newspaper!

I'm one of those people who LOVES to find out about their family ancestry BUUUT doesn't want to do any of the work to find out about it. One of my Uncles is retired and has dedicated his spare time to researching all this stuff.

He found some website where you can look up old newspaper clippings and he entered ALL of the names of our family members. Look what he found! A wedding announcement from 1946 in Tampa, Florida of my Great Aunt (Grandfather's sister), Lolita! She was so beautiful! I knew her very well and even stayed at her home when I lived in Spain for a Summer. She was an amazing woman but I only remembered her as an old woman living in a tiny Spanish home. She never spoke of Tampa and why would she? I had no connection to Tampa at that time, or at least I didn't know I did.

It was unbelievable to see her young face in the newspaper article from when she lived in Tampa and she was about to get married and move back to Spain. How exciting that must have been for her.

My Mom was the oldest of 10 siblings! I have 35 first cousins! The Spanish side of my family is all spread out now...Ireland, Belgium, Spain, Brazil and the United States, but there I am, living in Tampa by sheer coincidence because it's where my career has led me and when I saw this photo and realized my beloved Great Aunt was once living here too, it just felt serendipitous.
