I have quite a few friends who are elementary school teachers. It always baffles me how much money they spend each year out of pocket to make sure their students have supplies.
Sometimes it's upwards of $1,000 which is wild considering what a teacher makes in Florida is less than $50,000 a year to start.
Sometimes students don't have enough money at home to buy their supplies so teachers make up the difference, but also teachers want the kids to do fun things and interesting projects that often need extras bought to do them.
California Closets Tampa Bay is always doing amazing things to help out the community and this is no different!
