TikTok is making it easier to give credit where credit is due. This week, the social app announced it is introducing its first-ever creator crediting tools, which will ensure users within the global TikTok community get the proper recognition when starting trends.
TikTok’s creator crediting tools will allow users to easily tag and credit creators that inspire them through a new button under the video category. The new initiative aims to make sure anything from dance challenges to viral soundbites gets “equitable attribution.”
The new feature will allow users to refer to a video in their description, giving direct credit to the content that inspired them. As a bonus, the original creators will be notified when their content is mentioned or referenced.
