Visit Florida brainstorms tourism rebound

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Florida's top tourism promoters are brainstorming how to convince travelers that it's safe to return to the Sunshine State.

Universal Vice President Frank Belzer- chairman of Visit Florida's marketing council- told his colleagues during a conference call that they have their work cut out--

"As you have all been experiencing in your own businesses, myself included," Belzer said, "this is probably the craziest time you've ever had to do what you have to do. Everything is upside down."

Belzer said they need to overcome a 'mood of anxiety' created by the pandemic.

"Overwhelming anxiety across the country and around the world. We don't have a clear end in sight."

The agency's 'rebound plan' will initially focus on getting Floridians to travel within the state while doing all they can to make sure Florida is a top travel destination.
