Florida's Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday Is Underway

The first of three sales tax holidays this year is underway.

Florida’s Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday runs through Sunday, June 6th. It's aimed at getting residents prepared for hurricane season.

Among the items that are being sold tax-free...batteries for $50 or less, coolers and portable power banks for $60 or less, tarps for up to $100 and generators priced up to $1,000.

A new sales tax holiday gets underway during the first week of July called Freedom Week, with items like movie, museum tickets, bicycles kayaks and surfboards sales-tax free.

Also, Florida's Back to School sales tax holiday is back for ten days, starting on July 31st.
