St. Petersburg Police Looking for Clues in Two Killings

ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Police are asking for clues to help them find the killer or killers of two men in St. Petersburg.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $5000 reward for anonymous tips that lead them to suspects in each of those deaths.

60-year-old Vernon Williams was shot to death early Sunday (10th) in the 900 block of Melrose Avenue South. 24-year-old Corienzo Williams was shot to death Tuesday morning (12th) in the 2900 block of 17th Avenue South. Police don't think the two victims are related or connected before their deaths, and they believe both shootings were unprovoked.

Police Chief Anthony Holloway says the shooter in both incidents is described as a black male, and could be the same shooter.

Holloway is urging residents not to approach a car if someone they don't know drives up and asks to talk to them. "Walk away from that car," the chief said. He reference a third incident in which someone walked up to a car, saw a gun, and ran. Holloway is also asking residents in the neighborhoods of the two shootings to supply any surveillance video they might have. "Maybe... they've got a picture of that car," Holloway said.
