Selena Gomez is praising Benny Blanco for the positive qualities he brings to both their music and their life together.
In a new radio interview, the "Scared of Loving You" singer shared how her fiancé's confidence and energy are "addictive" and played a part in making their new joint album I Said I Love You First, per People.
"Telling him my stories and him telling me about his past and his stories, it was really special, so we combined it and made an album," she said, adding that Blanco's "confidence" added to the experience of creating the collaborative project. "That kind of energy is so addictive to be around, and he just â I don't know. I just love him, that's all."
The Rare Beauty founder, who previously explained how Blanco helped her find her "sound" after years of feeling frustrated, opened up about how having his support and expertise assisted in her own musical journey.
"I was so stuck musically. I didn't know where I wanted to go with my next albums," she said, adding, "I knew I wanted to do one, but it was just so wonderful to have him on my team. Like, he did an incredible job, and I respect him so much, and he just has excellent taste."
In a recent interview with iHeartRadio's Z100 New York, Gomez explained how making I Said I Love You First was a "leap of faith" when most people would advise not to work with your partner.
