Hilary Duff is bringing a "mature" new sound for her return to music.
On Monday (November 3), the Lizzie McGuire alum, 38, officially confirmed on Instagram that she has been making new music behind the scenes and is gifting fans her new song "Mature" on Thursday (November 6). The track will be her first single in 10 years, as she has seemingly been focused on her acting career since dropping her album Breathe In. Breathe Out. in 2015.
"So happy this is finally yours to hear. Been keeping this one quiet too long. My new single Mature is out Nov 6. πΈπͺ©π," she captioned the post, which also includes the single's moody cover art.
Fans first got a hint that a major announcement was coming when eagle-eyed watchers noticed a countdown had appeared on Duff's website over the weekend that pointed to some news being shared on Monday, per Us Weekly.
Duff teased her musical comeback in September, posting photos seemingly taken during the recording process and cheekily captioned the pics, "new music... or something." In addition to signing a contract with Atlantic Records, Duff also revealed that she had a docuseries in the works that, according to a press release, would bring fans along on her journey "as she balances raising a family, recording new music, live show rehearsals, and preparing to perform on stage for the first time in over a decade."
