The Winnipeg Jets (25-26-10) defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning (38-18-4) 4-1 on Thursday night at Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg. With the loss, the Lightning have now dropped four in a row after having won their previous six.
After a scoreless first period, the Jets got two in the second to build a 2-0 lead. Brayden Point scored early in the third period on the power play to cut Winnipeg's lead to 2-1, but the Jets answered with two goals en route to the 4-1 win.
For the Jets, Gustav Nyquist scored his first goal of the season, while Connor Hellebuyck went 26-for-27 in net to get the win. Andrei Vasilevskiy went 26-of-29 in net for Tampa Bay in the losing effort.
The Lightning now head to Toronto where they will play the Maple Leafs on Saturday night. Puck drop from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Saturday.
