The Florida Public Service Commission has announced the new area code being assigned to Palm Beach County.
In addition to 561, which has been in use for 25 years, people getting new phone numbers will be assigned the 728 area code.
Nobody with a current 561 number will have to change it.
The PSC says the old area code is expected to run out of numbers in 2023, though new numbers will start being given 728 this year.
Several other Florida counties already have two area codes, including 954 and 754 in Broward and 305 and 786 in Miami-Dade.
