A man will face a judge on Wednesday for allegedly attempting to kidnap a four year old boy.
The child and his eight year old sister were at the playground of their apartment complex San Merano at Mirasol in Palm Beach Gardens Sunday night when neighbors saw 37-year old Joseph Gibson trying to leave with the boy.
"Bottom line was he put his hands on a few kids."
Daniel Glebenyak tells CBS 12 News that Gibson was wearing no shirt or shoes when he showed up at the playground. Turns out he lives at the complex.
Police say the boy's 8-year old sister tried to stop Gibson and he pushed her head down.
Another neighbor, Lee Hurley, intervened. He punched Gibson and knocked him out until the cops arrived.
"The gentleman had tried to leave the park after he was told the cops were coming. He approached me and tried to do a little stance to attack me, so I hit him and put him down."
The parents had been cooking inside their apartment when this was going on and they came running when they heard the girl's screams.
Gibson's court appearance scheduled for Monday was postponed while he was treated for injuries linked to the punch.
