Man Faces Felony Charges for Burglary and Eavesdropping on Ex-Girlfriend

Coral Springs, FL - A Broward County man is facing three felony charges following allegations of burglarizing his ex-girlfriend's home and vehicle while installing recording devices to surveil her.

The charges, detailed in court documents obtained by Local 10 News, shed light on a disturbing series of events that unfolded over multiple dates in August and September.

According to an arrest warrant, Daniel Richard Walton Geiger, 38, was captured in at least 40 video clips from a neighboring residence, entering and exiting his ex-girlfriend's housing complex during late-night and early-morning hours.

The unsettling nature of the case deepened as Geiger's ex-girlfriend became suspicious when their 5-year-old daughter disclosed that he was "listening to her on his laptop computer" and had "cameras all over their home."

While the woman initially found no cameras, a revelation occurred two weeks later when, during routine cleaning, she discovered two black devices hidden in her mattress.

Police stated that Geiger had strategically placed these devices in a hole he had cut into the mattress.

Upon accessing the files, the woman heard recordings of her and her daughter's voices.

Subsequently, additional devices, totaling nine, were found throughout her home, with another located inside her car.

Concerned and taking action, the woman changed the locks on her home and promptly reported the situation to the police.

A subsequent search warrant for Geiger's home, vehicle, cellphone, keys, and DNA revealed one of the same types of devices containing a series of recordings.

Additionally, authorities uncovered a key to the victim's home in Geiger's possession.

Arrested on Monday, Geiger faces two felony burglary charges and a felony charge of unlawful interception of oral communications.

On Wednesday, a judge found probable cause in the case and issued a directive for Geiger to have no contact with the victim.

He was subsequently released from jail on a $60,000 bond, leaving legal proceedings to address the disturbing allegations against him.
