Cuban Man Faces String of Charges After South Florida Crime Spree

Miami, FL - A 24-year-old Cuban man appeared in a South Florida courtroom on Saturday facing a multitude of charges following a recent arrest spree.

Police say Jhon Danel Torres-Carbonell, who requires a translator due to limited English proficiency, appeared in court on Saturday to address the mounting accusations.

Prosecutors allege Torres-Carbonell is involved in four separate cases encompassing a total of ten charges. H

e already faced two felony grand theft auto charges, and his latest arrest added two new cases to his record.

On Saturday, Torres-Carbonell appeared before Miami-Dade County Circuit Judge Carmen Cabarga twice.

The first hearing addressed charges of leaving the scene of an accident (twice), reckless driving, and driving without a license.

The second hearing focused on more serious offenses including grand theft, grand theft auto, resisting arrest, armed burglary of a vehicle, and grand theft of a firearm.

Court records indicate these charges stem from incidents in November 2023, with Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Lody Jean presiding over the initial grand theft auto cases.
