Miami, FL - A customer's disagreement with her drive-thru order escalated into a full-blown meltdown at a Miami Starbucks on Thursday.

According to police, footage captured at the Starbucks on Biscayne Boulevard in Miami shows the situation boiling over as coffee cups become projectiles and the angered customer jumped over the counter and threatened employees.

Police say a Starbucks barista stepped in and diffused the situation by restraining the woman.

Investigators say the disagreement stemmed from an issue at the drive-thru window.

Police were dispatched to the scene but the unidentified customer departed shortly before their arrival.

The incident forced the Starbucks to temporarily close while employees cleaned up the mess.

A Starbucks spokesperson addressed Thursday's incident, highlighting the company's commitment to a welcoming atmosphere for both customers and staff.

"Respectful interactions are key to our Starbucks experience," the statement said. "We expect courtesy from both customers and our baristas, and prioritize a safe work environment for our team members. Violence of any kind is never tolerated in our stores."

The statement concluded by directing further inquiries to the Miami Police Department.
