FLORIDA - Florida Representative Anna Paulina Luna has called on social media platforms to remove graphic videos showing the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Luna specifically mentioned Elon Musk and X, highlighting the impact on Kirk’s family and the public.

“I am calling on @elonmusk, @finkd, and @tiktok_us to remove the horrifying videos of Charlie Kirk’s murder. He has a family, young children, and no one should be forced to relive this tragedy online,” she wrote Wednesday evening.

The shooting took place at Utah Valley University, where Kirk, the founder of Turning Point USA, was speaking at an event Wednesday afternoon.

Videos circulating online show Kirk being struck in the neck and collapsing, while attendees ran in panic. Kirk was later pronounced dead by authorities.

Authorities in Utah reported that two individuals initially detained in connection with the shooting, George Zinn and Zachariah Qureshi, were later released.

Zinn was charged with obstruction by Utah Valley University police, while Qureshi was released after questioning.

Investigators say the suspect allegedly fired from the roof of a building toward the gazebo where Kirk was addressing attendees.

Luna’s call to remove the videos received support from other Republican lawmakers.

Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado said on X, “Thank you! I agree completely! I NEVER want to see that again! I hate that I saw it at all.”

Law enforcement officials continue to investigate the incident and are searching for the suspect allegedly responsible for the shooting.

Social media companies have not yet confirmed whether they will remove the content.
