Hialeah Homeowners' Rebate Up For Debate

Hialeah homeowners with a homestead exemption will find out tonight if they will receive a rebate. Interim Mayor Jacqueline Garcia-Roves is pushing for a two-hundred-dollar rebate, Councilman Jesus Tundidor is pushing for three-hundred dollars. Both are running for mayor in November, and some residents want them to stop arguing. If the council approves a rebate, they will have to amend the 470-million-dollar budget for some 32-hundred homeowners expected to take advantage of it
