Pinellas County, FL - Reggie Paros, a 34-year-old environmental group director from Pinellas County, has officially filed to run as a Democrat for Florida’s 13th Congressional District in the upcoming election.

Paros, who previously worked for former Representative David Jolly, said his campaign is focused on economic opportunity, housing affordability, and community well-being.

Paros stated that one of his top priorities is helping residents earn higher wages and strengthen small businesses.

His platform includes raising the minimum wage and reducing regulations to make it easier for entrepreneurs to start and grow their operations.

He also proposed measures to improve housing access, including a down payment assistance program for first-time homebuyers and a tax credit for renters.

A longtime advocate for conservation, Paros noted that his experience working for Jolly, a former Republican now running for governor, shaped his bipartisan approach to politics.

He said that if elected, he plans to represent all residents of Pinellas County, regardless of party affiliation, and focus on practical solutions to local issues.

Paros, who is openly gay, emphasized his commitment to inclusivity and local priorities over partisan interests.

He is among several Democrats who have entered the race to challenge incumbent Representative Anna Paulina Luna.

Luna’s campaign responded by dismissing Paros’s bid as politically insignificant, pointing to her focus on legislation addressing congressional ethics and prescription drug costs.
