Camila Mendes is on the cover of Women's Health this month and she opened up about the inspiration behind her "to build a home" tattoo on her ribcage!
Camila said she had, "A very very bad experience; I was roofied by someone who sexually assaulted me." After that, Camila was committed to making everything around her feel safe and comfortable, something she's always wanted in a home. So, she got the tattoo after her freshman year.
I'm really happy that Camila opened up about this experience because I do think things like this really have an impact on how you live your life. My freshman year I was roofied my first week at college and I was so scared. I didn't want to tell my parents because I didn't want them to worry. I actually didn't want to tell anyone because they would just tell me I got too drunk.
It was SO scary and I truly believe it's the reason I never once tried any drugs in college. Also why I wanted to throw myself into a sorority, I wanted to have people around met at all times.
