So, a little behind the scenes gossip for you...radio studios are notorious for being dingy, dirty and WAY outdated. We joke in the industry about how most studios are put together with duct tape and bubble gum. You're likely to see shoddy paint jobs on the walls, carpet still on the floor from the 1980's and junk shoved into the nooks and crannies of every inch of these walk-in closet sized spaces.
It's just a fact of radio life that most personalities have just accepted! UNTIL NOW!
A few years ago I met with the team at California Closets and I haven't let them escape since! They've remodeled my garage at home, my formal living room into a home office and now they've done it again... They transformed ... and I mean transformed our Mix 100.7 studio at the iHeart Radio building in Tampa!
The reality is that these days radio is MUCH more than just people talking on the air. Now, it's social media, videos, in-person interviews with artists etc. It's SO nice to be able to invite a guest into the studio (ya know, when we're allowed to again) and not be mortified by the condition of your space. I used to always apologize to anyone who came in...
We now have a space to record social media videos or shelves to beautifully display the latest fan photos! I can't wait to welcome guests in again and offer them a cozy place to sit with pillows and under cabinet lighting while they wait for the interview to begin!
It's a backdrop worthy of a 100,000 watt radio station now!
How could your room or home or office benefit from a function and beauty upgrade?
